AGULHAS
Directed by Jacques Naudé
“Oupa” the whale, herald of the seas, returns to the bay. His songs unearth deep secrets from the heart of the ocean. To most in the village, the guttural whale cries remind them of time passing—of a certain season, and the opportunity it brings for the local fisherman. But for Angelo, a young boy who has inherited the gift of “sight” from his late grandfather, the haunting songs have a different meaning. When Angelo’s mother tells the tale of the relationship between Oupa and Pa, Angelo must choose between obeying his father's wishes and listening to his grandfather's voice in his heart.
